2005 "HOKUTO-KI" 2nd WORLD KUDO CHAMPIONSHIPS
Competition general information
1. Event

All competitors will be divided into 6 divisions according to their
"PHYSICAL INDEX SCALE", which is the sum of weight figure in KG
and height figure in CM. Each division category consists 16 competitors as follows:

Lightweight - Men under 230

Middleweight - 230 and under 240

Light Heavyweight - 240 and under250

Heavyweight - 250 and under260

Superheavy weight - 260 over

Women under 230 (each 8 competitors per under 215 and 215 over)

2. Participation

a. Each country or region may enter one (1) team composed of maximum six (6) competitors, one (1) competitor per country per division. A team leader, a team coach, a team doctor and an interpreter.

b. Competitors must be born before 31st December 1986. Competitors must also present a Health Certificate issued by a qualified doctor at least 30 days before the competitions. The certificate must clearly state that the competitor is in good health and able to compete. A Life Insurance Certificate issued by an insurance company in their own country or region must also be presented.

3. Competition Methods

a. 5 Men's and 1 Woman's category individual competition will be held.

b. The competition will be conducted in accordance with the "Rules for Kudo International Competition" endorsed in 2005. In the event of disagreement in the interpretation of the Rules, the Japanese Text shall prevail.

d. The power of interpretation of the Rules rests solely with KIFHQ.

4. Uniforms and Equipment (Protective gears)
a. Competitors shall wear " official Kudo Gi " and protective gears in compliance with the "Rules for Kudo International Competition" endorsed in 2004, during competitions.

b. Only the " official Kudo Gi " permitted in advance by KIFHQ will be allowed to wear during the Kudo competitions.

c. Head protector, fist supporter and "no foul cup (groin cup)" will be provided by the Organizing Committee if the competitor applies except for mouth guard which must be provided by the competitors themselves.

5. Technical Meeting

A meeting for all team managers and coaches will be held in the accommodation place at 10:00 on 12th November 2005(J.S.T). Each team may send a representative to attend the meeting, at which announcements of matters relating to the competition will be made.

6. Other matters

a. The weighing-in will be scheduled on 12th November 2005 from 14:00 to 16:00 (J.S.T). As a competition rule competitors are arranged to be weighed once only.

b. The main judge shall be very strict when conducting the fight to avoid accidents or serious injuries.

c. Violent or vicious attacks are NOT permitted and may result in "HANSOKU(Foul)".

d. The competitors are required to control their tempers, as well as their techniques, in order to distinguish the Kudo competition from other forms of full contact fighting competitions.

e. All coaches are reminded to make very clear to their competitors all

commencement of the competition before the competitions.

e. At the end of the event, the top 4 (four) athletes in each category must
take a drug test. If you are suspected of having taken drugs you might
lose your prize. All athletes will be notified of the drug test details when
athlete selection is announced. Please take note of this matter.@
