Karatedo-Daido Juku founded in Sendai, Japan by Jukucho Azuma Takashi.
The first Hokutoki Tournament is held. 1981 Hokutoki Open Weight Championships
. The Hokutoki Karate Championships becomes known simply as the "Hokutoki."
